Self-Directed Pensions

Self-Directed Pensions

Our values inform the pension structures available from our members:

Small Self-Administered Pension (SSAS or SSAP) is an occupational pension scheme established under S.772, TCA97.  It typically enjoys the freedoms attributable to One Member Arrangements under Pensions Act regulations.

Approved Retirement Fund (ARF) is a post-retirement scheme established under S.784(A), TCA97. The ARF allows retired people to remain invested and benefit from yields offered in investment markets.

Personal Retirement Bond or Buy Out Bond (PRB or BOB) is an arrangement for purchasing retirement benefits of an existing Occupational Scheme.  It is established pursuant to Chapter 1, Part 30, TCA97.

Personal Retirement Savings Account (PRSA) is a pension established under Part X, Pensions Act, 1990. Anybody is entitled to fund a PRSA for retirement purposes.

Our members would typically promote pensions of the self-administered or non-standard variety to expand the level of choice and control for the pension investor.  These pensions are often referred to as "self-directed".
